Focus on The Netherlands at euroSonic Noorderslag 2011
Taking place from 12-15 January 2011, the next edition of EuroSonic Noorderslag will focus on The Netherlands. EuroSonic Noorderslag, consisting of a three day conference and showcase festival attended by 2,800 music professionals and over 260 bands & acts performing, will feature performances by Dutch artists and will dedicate conference topics towards doing business with The Netherlands.
This edition of EuroSonic Noorderslag will start on Wednesday with the European Border Breakers Awards and the European Festival Awards.
25th anniversary – focus on The Netherlands
The 2011 edition will be the 25th anniversary for EuroSonic Noorderslag. What started in the '80s as little more than a fun musical battle in De Oosterpoort between ten Belgian and ten Dutch acts, has now become one of the main events in the European music sector. EuroSonic Noorderslag will celebrate its 25th anniversary by making The Netherlands – home of EuroSonic Noorderslag – focus country.
“EuroSonic Noorderslag celebrates 25 years in business. Together with the fact that there are a lot of very interesting and happening acts, this is a good reason to put the focus on the exciting and vibrant Dutch music scene”, says creative director of EuroSonic Noorderslag Peter Smidt.
