Óriás - not to be confused with the eponymous Swedish metal band - means ‘giant’ in Hungarian. This is an unmistakable but absolutely appropriate name for this power trio from Budapest, that makes giant music at the intersection of post-punk and alternative rock, with a hint of grunge. Songs with grinding guitar riffs, lumpy rhythms and great dynamics, and often fit to sing along with. Authentic Orange amplifiers, trendy beards and a love for Heineken beer complete the picture. After two years growth in their current form and a much talked-about appearance at Sziget 2009, the band is ready for the rest of Europe, starting in Groningen.
