A band calling themselves ‘the new Dutch-language super band’ without batting an eyelid is either arrogant or really the new Dutch-language super band. Spotrockers get every benefit of the doubt, ’cause the dead funky hip hop of this almost three year old band from Leeuwarden and Groningen grooves like a mother and blows all the skeptics upside down. Not for nothing the with no less than two mc’s equipped sixsome contantly ends up in talent show finals (of which the one associated with the Vlietpop festival this year was even won). The fact that their characteristic energy and humor also remain intact in the studio, is proven by their alternative Christmas hit song ‘Niks Voor Kerstmis’ (Nothing For Christmas).
