I was a Teenage Satan Worshipper (fi) will replace Pintandwefall (fi) on Thursday in De Spieghel. It's a cheerful bubblegum mix of sixties punk, shoegaze and synthpop that this quartet from the Finnish town of Tampere has to offer . Well, quartet, singer/guitarist My Lovin' Martian is solely responsible for every disc that the band made so far (one EP, two cd’s and a download-only mini-album). In that respect the I-format of the band name is really appropriate. But live on stage, I Was A Teenage Satan Worshipper really sounds like a real band, in which keyboardist Blackie Loveless in particular provides the proverbial icing on the cake. Have a slice!
