Friday January 19,17.00 - 19.00.
PCC Jazzclub, Meeuwerderweg 1
Songwriters from Dutch independent music publisher Strengholt Music Group will team up with songwriting students from the CMS department at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in a pressure-cooker-style mini songwriting camp. Five "student vs. professional" teams will take up the challenge to write a song in one day and present the outcome in a live showcase during Eurosonic at the brand-new Jazzclub venue of the Conservatoire, right next to the Oosterpoort ESNS congress centre.
For the students, co-writing with established professional writers is a fantastic learning opportunity. For the writers and their music publisher Strengholt, this mini-songcamp is a chance to explore a new and upcoming generation of musical talent. Strengholt will pitch the songs as created during these sessions to their network, offering the students the opening to have their work heard at an international level.
The confirmed line-up consists of Charlene Meulenberg (former Idols finalist Idols, writer for a.o. Sony Music and Armada Music), Tony Verdult (writer & composer for a.o. Polydor/Universal Music, BMG, Spinnin Records and Armada Music), Jacob Streefkerk & Michael Maidwell (Orange Grove members and writing for a.o. Rihanna, Major Lazer and Scooter), Menno Reijntjes (writing for a.o. Sony Music, Warner Music, Universal Music and Spinnin Records) and lastly Max Meser, who will perform some additional songs as well at the end of the showcase.
Both Strengholt Music Group and the Prince Claus Conservatoire are very much looking forward to presenting the results of this unique co-operation!
